Apple has been forced to issue a formal apology to iPhone users after the company finally admitted to slowing down their smartphones in order, as the company claims, to prolong battery life.
The company has also offered to replace batteries in aging iPhone’s at a highly discounted rate and is going to be issuing a software update in the New Year that will allow users to monitor their batteries health.

Several lawsuits brought against the US tech giant claim the company defrauded iPhone users by slowing down their phones without warning.
Last week Apple finally admitted to something that had long been suspected. The company had been slowing down older models of iPhone via software updates. The company claimed this was done to keep the phones running at optimal performance and to prolong the life of aging batteries.
But many users feel defrauded by the company have filed lawsuits in the US seeking a call to action status that would potentially represent millions of users.
The lawsuits – filed in the U.S District Courts in the states of California, New York and Illinois make multiple claims including the notion that iPhone users may have attempted or even paid for repairs to their phones, which would have been futile and a waste of time and money. A new report has emerged which sheds further light on whether or not Apple intentionally slow down older iPhones via software updates.
Updated: 21/12/2017 – Apple has now confirmed this to be true!
The report suggest that the tech giant knowingly slow down the speed of processors in older models of iPhones, especially those with worn batteries – making the overall speed of the device slower.
Many users have reported their older model iPhones getting slower, especially after updating or when a new model is released. Apple’s App Store has long been touted as a bastion of quality in terms of the applications it hosts. Unlike Androids Play Store, the apps it allows onto the service are much more heavily regulated and quality tested. So when a fake version of Cuphead appeared on the app store, questions were asked.
The report first came via TorchArcade and stated that a version of the Microsoft exclusive game had appeared on the App Store – with a link to what appeared to be a legitimate game. Everything looks above board with real game screenshots and the studios name – StudioMDHR – as the seller. But when you take a closer look, the support page links to “studiomhrgames.com” as opposed to the correct URL – which is “studiomdhr.com”. Apple’s new UFO like headquarter building which until now has just been known as Campus-2 has been officially named as ‘Apple Park’. The 175 acre HQ is due to open in April. The facility is nearing completion and construction of adorning parkland and out buildings will continue through the summer months.
The incredible looking building has been developed in collaboration with architectural designers Foster & Partners and will replace 5 million square feet of concrete and tarmac with grassy fields and 9,000 drought resistant trees.
